(There is no audio recording copy for this session, and I only have vague recall about the people in the room as mentioned in the transcript. This was a while ago now of course, yet there is a feeling about this session like it was just done yesterday).
Class session 11 April 89
Before Kris showed up, people in the group were discussing Rose’s apparent ability to empathise or pick up other people’s feeling tones around her. Kris came through and addressed this issue as well as to give some interesting pointers to help others in a similar context. He also shared some information so that people with this ability can actually better manage what they pick up, be less affected by it and how they can bring balance in their environment. Kris also talks briefly about the nature of each person’s reality.
Good evening to all. Now, there are a number of most valuable lessons and observations to be made from Rose’s experiences. Some of you may not have considered this, but they are vital, and that can help you see more clearly about the nature of beliefs, indoctrinations, what you accept about reality, and what reality is all about. Now, Rose, in any way you can, can you describe how you came about to permit your experiences?
(How I came about to permit them? Well, all I did was just sit there and think of the person, and whatever the feelings I got from this person, thinking of this person, or I would see pictures of this person, like somebody else involved with this person or things like that.)
In other words, if you permit us, we may assume the role of a lawyer and say that we are leading the witness with our questions. Now, you just sat down and decided to do it. In other words you had to assume that you could do these things. Correct? (Yes.)
Indeed. In order to assume that you could do these things, you had to eliminate or remove or put aside everything that said that you could not do these things. Correct? (Yes.)
That in itself was a difficult struggle. It always is, because then you are fighting against beliefs and theories you have accepted as truth in the past. Now, you are grafting another set of beliefs at the same place you used to hold the old ones. Correct? (Yes.)
This means that you could try the following experience in theory only, and this can be done by all of you: to imagine that you had never accepted any thought, any impression, any hint, however subtle, that you could not do this.
In other words: that this kind of activity is one of the normal ways in which the human being functions. In other words yet, if reality was viewed and understood on the basis of your experiences of the reality, you would end up with an entirely different perception. Thus if we go to Rose’s experience and it is pointed out that she can formulate her view of the universe up on her own, her most intimate, subjective awareness derived from her experience, she would acquire natural, exuberant, vital and alive perceptions of life and the universe.
She would be utilising natural, inherent abilities as opposed to accepting beliefs and notions that for the most part seek to inhibit and restrain and suppress the natural, inherent conclusions derived from a natural state of being. Do you follow? (Yes.)
If you could pretend that you could do these things, meaning – view the universe and reality in consequence of your experience with it, how do you think your life or those of others would be? (I don’t know.)
Do you think, for example …
(Well, I feel that if I pick up on somebody and I get the impression that something’s going on with their life, but if I am picking it up it’s because they’re letting me pick it up, if they didn’t want me to be involved in this, they wouldn’t let me see this, what’s happening to them. Am I right?)
Indeed. That is one facet.
(So everybody’s giving me permission when I see things happening, so if I have the urge, and I have the feeling that I have to tell somebody something because it bothers me to feel it, should I tell this person, because they already let me …)
In those instances, you have to use the better part of discretion because some individuals truly need to hear what they have allowed you to feel, but on the other hand, they may not necessarily want to hear it.
(So I could write them a letter.)
Another way is to engage in a conversation and out of all good-hearted ignorance pretend you are talking of someone else. (Yeah.)
Now, to get back to our original track, if individuals could operate in the same manner, it would first of all eliminate the need to fear others, because there would be less fear of self. That is what fear of others is. Feeling that another will find out your little secrets means that you are afraid that you know who, what you are, and what you are doing to yourself, and what you are doing about it. Do you understand? (Yes.)
And not many individuals are willing to admit responsibility for their own thoughts and actions. That would present an enormous step in human evolution, because as a repercussion or a consequence of a similar discovery, you may want to do away with all forms of weapons, all forms of security in the armed sense, as well as all forms of situations and events which on the one hand perpetuate fear and insecurities, as well as provoke the conditions which establish fear and insecurity itself in the first place, because the state of communications between individuals would be natural.
This would enhance personal growth and evolution, reduce fear of self, improve the relationship between all members of consciousness, all life forms, human or otherwise, as well as improving communications with the individual himself. Do you understand? (Yes.)
It is, therefore, unfortunate that you are raised in a society that still seeks to suppress the human being, instead invoking the uttermost fear of self by making you understand from a child, or from a tender age, that yes, on the one hand, we love you as you are, dear child, but on the other hand, you better begin to think in terms that society dictates, therefore we will make you understand that it is reproachable to think in anything but the terms that we (as a society) dictate. Do you understand? (Yes.)
That is an unfortunate waste of energy. That is what is responsible for the irresponsibility now demonstrated upon your planet by wholesale destruction of the environment. No respect and approval of self, no respect and approval of the living space you inhabit, and very little respect and approval for the other forms of consciousness that occupy the same space as you. Do you follow? (Yes.)
However, there are individuals like yourselves who begin to question the validity or the old standard pat answers, that begin to defy the views of the establishment, whether it is inner establishment or physically represented, where you challenge the values that you hold and you begin to rebuild your view of life.
That is the one most important key that will open untold numbers of doors and perceptions, by allowing yourselves to understand that you can make up your own answers about life without having to rely on others’ points of view or books, that it is quite all right and that the purpose of such an observation is to lead you to define for yourselves that you need not have any limitations or barriers or definitions, in that sense of the word, concerning your experience of reality.
Rose’s conclusions have yet to be formulated, for the experience itself continues to root itself deep within her psyche, and as soon as she accepts that this is totally natural and that sometimes other individuals may deny that her observations are accurate, and learn to handle her ability to handle herself, for it is two different things. Do you understand Rose? (Yes.)
It is fine to handle an ability but to handle yourself with the ability is a different thing. (Yes.)
Once she begins to do this, she will gradually eliminate other restrictions established and chosen by her at the time in order to comply with the needs and demands of her environment. Each of you has the same capacity to seek knowledge. However, knowledge for the sake of storing knowledge serves little purpose, but knowledge that is used and put to practical use for changing your living conditions is knowledge put to good use. Do you follow? (Yes.)
(It’s like if I pick up on somebody, when we pick up on something, you don’t do it to hurt the person, it’s more to help the person, if you feel that this person has problems in this area or something, that you can explain to the person that if he would look into whatever his problems are he would probably find the answer to his … I don’t know …)
Often, some individuals might not appreciate a direct approach.
(But if you use … well, mostly if you do it, you know the person already, so you’re …)
Sometimes you might meet an individual that you do not know, Rose.
(Oh, I know, I’ve had that before, but I mean I wouldn’t go talk to a stranger.)
Indeed, but if you are, let us say, in a situation with a stranger, and perhaps other individuals, and you receive these information, you may pretend to talk about someone else. Do not worry. They are listening. They understand everything. Do you understand? (Yes.) Thus, it becomes important for all of you to understand that the universe is merely the construction of your ideas about it. That is more easily said and intellectually understood than emotionally perceived.
Do you have questions?
(When ability arises and you’re aware that it starts to come through as Rose’s has, there seems to be a tendency that the information is coming through about people, things, you want to rush out and help them, “save the world”, I think you had mentioned in one of your other classes or courses, and I think it takes a while to work through that … )
Indeed.
(… to accept that that person may not want help, you can only offer so much and it’s their final decision whether to accept what you have to say or not …)
It is often like being attracted to someone who does not want to know anything about you. That is the best and most assured way to punish yourself. Do you understand? (Yes.)
In this instance, clinging to a martyr / saviour complex is far more dangerous because it is part of the indoctrination that says that if you notice something peculiar about yourself, you must by divine intervention use it for others, otherwise you are doing a wicked thing. You understand? (Yes.)
That is part of what you have to clean away from yourself. Understand that others do not need you, and no one needs saving. What they need more than enough is to be subtly or not so subtly reminded that they too are caught in a role, that they have an existence outside the periphery of their small mental world, that they are far greater than all of what they perceive.
Ultimately all of what they perceive is meaningless in the sense that if they cannot recognise who or what they are, then nothing in the world will truly satisfy them, except in the sense that a drug addict becomes satisfied the moment he hits on the heroin high and then comes down. Do you understand?
Because being attached to the illusions of life is an addiction. It is as powerful and possessing an addiction as what the drug addict lives through, until you recognise that you can enjoy what is there in the world to enjoy, but that ultimately there is still more. There is the source or cause of all of what you see, which is what goes on within you, and all the rest is but a reflection of the states of your mind, whichever direction you look. You cannot escape self. Do you follow?
Encountering self, even if you put yourself in a padded room with no one there, that is when it becomes the scariest, because you have no one else to detract you from that search. You are alone with self, and you must live with yourself. Do you understand? (Yes.)
Thus by definition, the self is not restricted, is not limited, and is not confined by your interpretation and your beliefs about reality, but it will comply, and play the role you give it. That is where you need to investigate, and it is only, or the only type of investigation that brings any fruit here, is a subjective, personal quest of self-liberation.
In the sixties and seventies, when the gurus came like crows from the far-east, they promised liberation from illusion, but they themselves were caught in the illusion that they had to save others from the illusion. They played the ultimate game, and they didn’t win. Illumination, self-realisation only means that you recognise self. But that self can be anything you want it to be, as long as you know that, and as long as you keep enjoying the life and the exuberance that flows through your veins, and not pretend, in a self-righteous way, because you are illuminated you do not have to bother with the insignificances of the illusions of life. That is where the gurus lost. Do you follow? (Yes.)
Your own lives are proof enough that your beliefs create your reality, or rather the beliefs that you accept to create your reality. You need not search in countless books or become mystics. You need to experience your self in an unadulterated way, and that is by experimentation and observation and conclusion, and notice that your conclusions will and must always be open-ended in order to keep the gates of knowledge open and free-flowing so that information and additional experiences and confirmation and liberation also have their effect upon you.
Now, by no means do we wish to sound like a Sunday morning preacher, but we do wish to mention to you all that ultimately all of what you do, you do because you enjoy doing it. Otherwise, you would not be doing IT, you would not be involved in what you do at this time. Do you follow? (Yes.)
Thinking along those lines will gradually entice within you specific views that if investigated, and the implications experimented with, will bring about changes in your views of the world. Changes that accommodate additional expansions of awareness which bring you to not necessarily another level of learning, but rather another plateau from which you can view the experiences of your lives in a different light.
For instance, any one of you may take a few minutes at home and, lying quietly or sitting down quietly, begin to imagine what the universe and humanity might be like if you had not chosen to take birth when you did. All of those probabilities are available to you, as well as all the probabilities that may indicate what other changes may or may not have occurred had you not chosen to be at this place at this time, and at this place at this time. Do you understand? (Yes.)
This gigantic shuffleboard of realities constantly rearranges itself in accord with the varieties of experiences and observations that you make about reality because it is within the context of those observations and conclusions that physical reality acquires the blueprints to establish specific patterns of events and apparent external or existential projections of life, devoid of and naked of human sensitivities and lack of consciousness. For that is simply not possible, but it is a point of view that can only come about by those individuals who cannot reason and understand that they are responsible by their thoughts and their deeds for the reality and the events that they experience.
Now, we have rambled on enough. Do you have other questions?
(My understanding is if you picture a future that you like and you focus your mental energy on that consistently, you will select that probability for yourself in doing so, or at least lead yourself toward that probability. Is that correct?)
It is most likely.
(Okay. So action, doing something about your life, is not necessarily a question of physical action, it can also be thought/energy.)
Indeed. In fact, most and indeed all of your physical actions are the result of immense engineering. It can simply not be done any other way. Do you understand? (Yes.)
Then go on with your question.
(So would an appropriate approach then be to imagine the future that you wish to participate in and then to just do what comes naturally along the way, just attend to what comes in your path.)
In general, indeed that is the view.
(Okay. I guess I asked the question because in our society it seems very hard to take a step within the culture without, you kind of take one step towards interacting with our culture and you’ve already accepted all kinds of beliefs that run very contrary to the types of things you’re teaching here.)
Indeed.
(So it’s very hard to know what to do in practical terms.)
At times, it is best to bite your tongue, to grin and bear it, knowing full well that you have other plans, and you have other things to do, and then walk away, once you have confirmed that your projected future is already in the present. Do you understand?
(Yes.)
Most of what you do is based upon trust and faith. This is what becomes the building blocks for your future of sorts.
(Okay, that makes a lot of sense. Faith is a word you don’t mention to often.)
We certainly do not wish it confused with religiosity.
(But faith in your Self is a different thing.)
Indeed. Faith in self can only be perverted when faith in self becomes fear of self, faith in self.
(Isn’t it true, too, that if he is thinking of his future that his thoughts will change the people around him too?)
They will also shuffle themselves and their thoughts without necessarily going out of their way to accommodate you, but just necessarily so, in order for the accomplished reality to be manifest. Do you understand? (Yes.)
(We each create our own reality but how can you help someone you love, like a member of your family, to change their reality?)
Give us a moment …
How many times have you caught yourself having a mental conversation with the individual? (Many times.)
Now, you cannot tell us you have difficulty visualising. That is visualisation.
Now you know how it is done. (Yes.)
Now, next time you engage in this inner conversation, pretend that you are firm, direct and to the point, not taking on an accusing role, just one that is firm and allows you to express yourself. And see the other individual concerned sitting in a chair and you standing, and speak what is on your mind, explaining also in your mind’s eye that you will, and you are prepared to give energy so that they can do something constructive and empowering. Do you understand? (Yes.)
Then imagine that you are sitting in front of them and hold hands, all the while talking away in a subdued manner, a manner that is conducive to creating a good psychic link with them when you are holding hands, and gently, as you imagine yourself talking, you also imagine a crystal-clear brilliant fluid energy go from you to them and envelop them, envelop both of you.
While this is going on, you confirm and reassure this person’s good intentions, above and beyond anything they may physically be up to, and give of this energy unconditionally. And then withdraw, leave the visualisation, refresh yourself, go for a walk, take a bath, do another type of activity and drop the subject, even for many hours. Do you understand? (Yes.)
This may have several effects on the individual. The individual may suddenly become inspired to do something, may feel a closer bond with you than usually expected, or may yet feel an entirely different range of emotions that may never come to the surface but where the individual is conscious and aware of it subjectively. Do you understand? (Yes.)
Any other method you have tried so far has failed. Correct? (Yes.)
Perhaps you can do it this way. Pretend you are immensely involved but remain somewhat distant, creating enough distance to allow yourself to lead your own life and not to be leeched upon, as well as helping the individual find their own life. (Yes, yes.)
We sense you understand very well.
(You’ve made it very clear. I’m happy about this answer.)
Consider also that there are little roles played between the two of you, that you fully, consciously, willingly play the part because it nurtures specific needs within you that may be parasitic, that have to be stopped. (Yes.)
You may call them psychological parasites, but they are created by ego-self, and they are not useful. They drain far too much energy, just like a parasite sucks blood. Is this helpful? (Yes very much. Thank you.)
Indeed. Perhaps the best light to look at all of this with is in an unconditional loving way, for your own health. (Yes.)
Now again, you have from this instance, observed that your reality is manifested according to the events of your inner life. Your ideas about life are projected our there so that you can view them. Correct? (Yes.)
Indeed. Change your inner film/movie for a different audience. (Yes, yes.)
Remember, the best audience and the most critical is always the audience of self. Just as films show you what society believes in and what state of mind society is in, so does physical reality show you what state of mind you are in and what your beliefs are all about. It simply cannot be any other way. Is this helpful for all of you? (Yes.)
Both of you have been good guinea pigs tonight.
(Well, it’s helped the guinea pigs, too.)
Why else would you get involved? (Exactly.)
Maintain the idea that your world is based upon your ideas of it, then you can do substantial alterations, at least in your own view of the world, by altering some of the blueprints and coordinates upon which certain foundations are laid. Those civilisations, those views of the world that are being changed may encounter resistances, but nonetheless those resistances only establish a more firm and powerful foundation for future experiences that naturally, inherently unfold from those views and their implications.
This is where the benefits of your experiences then gradually provide beneficial views for the rest of humanity without going into a martyr complex. Your views can be and are viewed by mankind, exchanged, carried forth from one network of communicating minds to another, providing possibilities, probabilities, hopes, new light, new perspectives, perhaps also conflict, challenges to established views, fears of unknowns, but nonetheless very valuable and powerful tool shared by all.
What is to say that your own newly-altered views did not come from ideas expressed from other individuals who went through the same states or experiences that you are now newly excited about? Do you understand? (Yes.)
It is the best communication system you will ever have. No telecommunication device or satellite communications can ever hope to match the massive power of the network of minds and forms of life that inhabit but one mere small planet, that may or may not be insignificant, but that nonetheless holds a precious expression of consciousness.
Now, we will not fiddle much longer, but we would suggest one small experiment that you can try for next week. It is simple. It is one that is reminiscent of earlier suggestions where, depending wherever you are, you become aware of how you respond to your environment.
If you are in a room full of people, become aware of how you are responding to all of what is going on, all the other bodies and their personalities, the walls, the colours, the shapes, the sounds. And then suggest to yourself that you can alter the atmosphere of the room by focusing somewhat more intensely upon your feeling of the moment, and using the same intensity to generate a new thought, one that you then place into the atmosphere of the room, a thought or an idea, a block of energy which gives off a countering resonance of love to all the energies that are being expanded in the room at the time. It is like throwing a small bomb in a room and happily waiting for the explosion. Do you understand? (Yes.)
Do you understand what we said by a similar resonance? By this we mean take all of what you feel from the room, add love to it, unconditional, give it back to the room, so that it harmonises everything in the room. It is like harmonising a musical note with another of the same pitch, to nullify it. Do you understand? (Yes.)
Now we are not saying to nullify what is in the room, but to harmonise it. Do you follow? (Yes.)
All you have to do is suggest that this is your thought and your desire, project it into the room, drop it, and leave it be. Once in a while, lend an ear to what is going on in the room, how you respond.
What are you feeling right now, Jackie?
(I’m thinking in terms of a gathering that will be at my home next Friday where there will be many members of my family and I wondered what the interaction is going to be with all these people.)
How what are you feeling right now?
(What am I feeling right now? I’m feeling happy because I got some information that I feel is useful, valuable, that I can put into practice. I’m feeling happy about that.)
What are you feeling, Rose?
(Well, when you were talking I was feeling I already have done that, I already did what you said we had to do for our exercise, so I’ve already done that before, like being in a room and picking up all these things and throwing it back at everybody, feelings that … so I’ve already done that, and I was just feeling good … and picking up that she’s feeling good, she’s happy but she’s sad inside, Jackie is … )
(No, I don’t feel sad inside.)
(Yeah, well I felt that you’re happy outside …)
(Well, I was thinking one thing, that with all these people I may not be able to enjoy their presence as much because I’ll be busy seeing to the needs of different people … grandchildren want another drink, and somebody else wants something else, but I don’t really feel sad.)
(Well, that’s what I mean like sad, you feel that you’re not going …)
(I may be deprived of sharing fully all the time.)
(Like my mother-in-law.)
